Course Description 2cm porcelain pavers are an innovative product of the tile market, introduced in the past five years. The product was developed to compete with traditional exterior hardscape surfaces. The 2cm (3/4") thickness, as opposed to a typical 3/8" thickness, allows the product’s use in more application types and with superior performance measures. This course will compare and contrast 2cm porcelain pavers with other hardscape substrates, and provide an average cost analysis of materials, proving that 2cm porcelain is the ideal option for exterior paving. After taking this course, landscape and hardscape designers will be able to make an informed value judgement based on performance, life cycle, and cost.

We take a close look at those requirements and review product solutions for an effective approach to physical site security and access control.

Natural Design: An Intensive Two-Day Workshop
Instructors: Larry Weaner, FAPLD, Ian Caton, LD, & Dwayne Estes
Cosponsored by Tennessee ASLA
Save the Date for the New Directions in the American Landscape's (NDAL) February 2020 Natural Design Workshop in Nashville (location TBD). TNASLA is cosponsoring this program, which provides real world guidance for designing and documenting all phases of native landscape
development.
Demand for high performing, ecology-based landscapes is increasing faster than the availability of the specialized knowledge needed for professional practitioners to achieve them. This intensive two-day workshop will provide concrete, real world guidance for designing and documenting native meadows, shrublands, and woodlands. We will also discuss adapting these wild landscapes to the 'fine garden' scale for smaller projects and properties.
Attendees will receive an extensive manual (100+ pages) that documents all aspects of the program, including plant selection criteria, plant recommendations, ecological process-based management specifications, and guidance for maximizing the aesthetic and experiential appeal these landscapes can provide.
For more information visit NDAL.org.
Registration will open mid-December, 2019.
The first Lunch & Learn of 2020 will be on Thursday, February 13th from 11:30-1:00 PM at the Legacy Parks Foundation Building downtown.
