PURPOSE

“The purpose of the Chapter shall be the advancement of knowledge, education and skill in the art of Landscape Architecture and the promotion of the profession of Landscape Architecture as an instrument of service in the public welfare. To this end the Chapter shall promote the profession of landscape architecture and advance the practice through advocacy, education, communication, and fellowship.” 

The Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects represents over 150 practicing and affiliated members located throughout Tennessee. Through the activities and advocacy of three state sections, TNASLA works to educate the public on the benefits that the Landscape Architecture profession provides.

MISSION - ASLA

The American Society of Landscape Architects, founded in 1899, promotes the landscape architecture profession and advocates the practice of landscape architecture through advocacy, education, communication and fellowship. ASLA represents over 17,000 members in 48 Chapters throughout the United States and US territories.

The Society’s mission is to advance landscape architecture through advocacy, communication, education, and fellowship.

ASLA seeks to improve the public understanding of the profession and advance the practice of landscape architecture. ASLA’s Government Affairs Department facilitates communication between members and elected officials at the local, state and federal levels and is an active advocate of the profession on issues including professional licensure, livable communities, transportation enhancements and small business issues.
